U.S. VESSEL GENERAL PERMIT

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates discharges incidental to the normal operation of commercial vessels greater than 79 feet in length through the Vessel General Permit (VGP). It covers 27 operational discharges such as bilgewater, graywater and ballast water BUT for sewage, which is regulated under the Clean Water Act.
